OCLC brings first ILLiad Conference to the world
Dublin, OH
On the 8th Anniversary of the ILLiad Inter-Library Loan
system, OCLC hosted the first International Illiad Meeting.
The summit was International because OCLC contracted PowerStream
to webcast the entire event live. Library administrators from
around the world logged in via the Internet to virtually attend
the various presentations on ILLiad best practices.
ILLiad and Odyssey software allows librarians to seamlessly
share patrons and resources, digitally managing many technologies
that have been classically paper-based. Those attending the
OCLC ILLiad Meeting—in person or virtually—benefit by learning
how other librarians have taken advantage of the technology as
it grows in strength and global use.
